Commercial Financial Controller, Managing Director Designate!

Zero Carbon Associates is currently looking for a Commercial Financial Controller with qualifications of either CIMA/ACMA/ACA/ACCA and strong experience in a Manufacturing (or closely related industry) is preferred especially if this has included exposure to electronics and overseas activity, ideally the USA and Middle East.

Newly created opportunity to work for a market leading business who design, manufacture and supply niche, computers for use in hazardous areas. Their loyal client base comprises of global businesses who operate within the oil and gas exploration industry. As they continue to go through a period of substantial change, they have recognised the need to enhance the team by adding a multi-disciplinary senior manager to help drive a period of significant growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong Finance background with instinctive entrepreneurial flair. This opportunity will be particularly attractive to individuals who aspire to ultimately lead a business, as such the position will be MD elect.

Commercial Financial Controller (Managing Director Designate):

• Either Qualified (CIMA/ACMA/ACA/ACCA) or Qualified by Experience.
• Experience in a Manufacturing (or closely related industry) is preferred especially if this has included exposure to electronics and overseas activity, ideally the USA and Middle East.
• Previously operated at Financial Controller level (or equivalent), either within an SME or subsidiary of a larger business, where you’ve had a degree of autonomy.
• A working knowledge of SAP Business One will prove advantageous, but by no means essential. You must be highly proficient in Excel.
• Experience of day-to-day cash flow management is essential, preferably in a business where few, but large value transactions take place.
• Appreciate the challenges and complexities of a cyclical business.
• Able to command authority, credibility and earn respect, working with people at all levels across multiple functions and disciplines.
• Articulate and confident in preparing presentations for the Board, Banks and other stakeholders.
• Think outside the box, showing initiative and resourcefulness, with high energy, able to add real value during the exciting times ahead.
• Possess commercial acumen to help drive the business forward from a strategic footing.

The details of this Commercial Financial Controller include:

• A starting salary in the region of £60,000-£75,000, with the flexibility of increasing this for the right candidate.
• Genuine potential for transition to Managing Director
• Membership of the Company’s pension scheme.
• £150,000 Death in Service
• 25 days holiday plus statutory
• Malton Head Office, easily accessible from the A64, and commutable from York, Scarborough, North/East Leeds, Pickering, Thirsk, Selby & Driffield.
